29/04/2013 - Ombudsman Decisions
In April 2013, the FOS are starting the process of publishing their final decisions on their website. They published an update to their approach to this in March 2013 and you can read more by clicking on the link HERE. They will publish their final decisions in a searchable database on their website and this information will not only give details of the decision, but will also name the business (but not the consumer).
As part of the practical arrangements involved in publishing the decisions, there will be a short delay between an ombudsman sending out their decision to the two parties in each case – and that decision being made available on their website. This allows time for the two parties to respond, once they have received a decision and before the information is published.
FOS anticipate that decisions will first start appearing on their website in early summer.

29th April 2013 - The FCA On-Line Assessments are being rolled out
The Regulator has been continuing with the programme of BRAW workshops and face-to-face Proactive Regulatory Reviews during the changeover from the FSA to the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) and they are currently running BRAW workshops in the South Central area of England.
Firms who have not been invited to attend a face-to-face meeting with the Regulator will be required to complete either a telephone or on-line assessment. To date, we have no details of any telephone assessment plans, but we have been notified via the Association of Professional Compliance Consultants that the on-line assessment tool is ready to be rolled out, initially to firms in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
We believe those of you in the North West, South West and West Midlands are due to be the next batch of firms required to complete the on-line assessment and you should expect to receive further information from the FCA about this within the next few months.
We are here to help you with your assessments, so don’t forget to let us know when you hear from the FCA.
General guidance on the BRAW programme is available to download from our website from the Members Login area.
